Welcome to Katz’s School of Dance

Our vision is to award dancers with the opportunity to not only gain an International Qualification which is world class (I.S.A.T), but also to train them into dance entrepreneurship, Our long term goal is to establish a peformance arts college in which all forms of arts will be amalgamated. We offer many styles such as Modern Dance, Ballet & Hip Hop – see the Classes page for a full list.

Wedding packages

Getting married? An experienced choreographer will coach you step-by-step into a show-stopping dance for your special day. All styles are covered, so the sky’s the limit.

Studio rental

Need space for corporate teambuilding, rehearsals, parties or events… we’ve got it!
Four studios, three with mirrors, fully air-conditioned, kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing

Imperial Society of Dance Teachers (as it was first known) was formed on the 25th July 1904 at the Hotel Cecil in Covent Garden, London. 1925 saw a change of name to “The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing”. As well as the Operatic and General, new branches were formed to deal with the following techniques: Modern Ballroom Dancing; Classical; Classical Ballet (Cecchetti); Greek Dance; Natural Movement .

As the profession expanded it became apparent that the teachers’ need for an authoritative and comprehensive syllabus in each technique could be best supplied by the formation of specialist branches (now called Faculties) .

The South Asian Dance Faculty was formed in 1998 and the most recent addition to the ISTD is the Club Dance Faculty (formed in 1999). In 2002 due to the success of the Modern Theatre Faculty it was necessary to split the Faculty into two, creating the Modern Theatre Faculty and the Tap Dance Faculty.
